    Summary:

  • 30 active young men were assigned to a 10-week program of endurance training, resistance training, or combined endurance and resistance training
  • Metabolic rate went up in resistance and combined groups and body fat percent dropped in all groups, but most in combined
  • Aerobic power increased most in endurance and some in combined, and squat and bench press strength increased most in resistance and some in combined group

    Conclusion:
    Combined training provides all the benefits of both resistance and endurance training but to a lesser extent
