    Stretching May Help Heal Muscle Strain

  • 80 athletes with hamstring pulls were told to stretch hamstrings 4 times a day or once a day
  • 4 times a day stretchers regained range of motion quicker and resumed full activity 2 days sooner
  • Stretching should not begin until at least 48 hours after injury, and then to point of a slight pull, not pain

    Conclusion: Stretching before activity may not help prevent injury, but stretching can help heal the injury after it occurs
