A 10-year follow-up was performed of post-menopausal women who had
taken
part in a walking program study
Those who had complied with the walking program were still walking
more
than noncompliers or controls
Researchers found an 82% reduction in risk of heart disease for the
walkers plus indications of fewer hospitalizations and
falls
Conclusion:
There appears to be benefits in health status of older women
associated with long-term changes in physical activity
