  • 6 older men who usually did moderate to high intensity exercise at least 4 days a week were compared with 6 who exercised less often
  • Frequent exercisers had lower IL-6 levels and higher IL-10
  • IL-6 promotes inflammation and IL-10 fights it, and has been linked to longevity

    Conclusion: Regular exercise may prevent or delay some harmful effects of aging through its effect on these substances
