Study examined 1004 premenopausal white women, ranked into 4 levels of physical activity
Measurements were made for body mass index, percent body fat, and waist to hip ratio
Mean BMI, percent body fat, and WHR were less at each higher activity level except between 0 and 1
Conclusion: Higher physical activity seems to help minimize age-related abdominal obesity in this group, which should be an incentive for women approaching menopause to increase activity
