Summary:
Previously untrained women between the ages of 19 and 44 were put on a 12
week weight training program
Average body fat decreased from 29.8% at the beginning of the study to
27.2% at the study's conclusion
Strength improved but there were no significant changes in body weight or
resting metabolic rate
Conclusion:
Weight training can result in favorable changes in body
composition without restricting food intake.
