    Maximum Weight Limit Introduced

    Source: UPI

    Summary:

  • A statistician has developed the concept of Maximum Weight Limit as an alternative to body mass index to determine when you are getting overweight
  • For men, baseline is 5 ft 9 in. and 175 lb, so a 5’9” man should weigh no more than 175 lb; for women, start with 5 ft and 125 lb
  • To adjust for other heights, for men add or subtract 5 lb for every inch taller or shorter than 5’9”, and for women, adjust 4.5 lb for every inch from baseline

Comment: All such guidelines are approximate, but for most people, reaching the maximum weight limit can be a warning sign to check your diet
