    Summary:

  • Participants were 40 individuals who did at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least 3 times a week for the previous 6 months
  • Half stopped exercising for 2 weeks and the other half continued their workout routine
  • Negative mood scores at follow up were seen in the exercise withdrawal group, associated with reduced parasympathetic nervous system activity

    Comment: Regular exercise makes you feel better, so going without exercise for a couple of weeks can affect your mood
