Summary:
Recent study at shows that a chemical found in most sunscreens
may damage cell DNA.
The culprit is PBSA (2-phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonic
acid) that has been shown in laboratory experiments to
possibly increase the risk of developing skin cancer.
The study was not performed on human skin but was completed
in test tubes.
Comment:
Sunscreen is also available without PBSA.
