Summary:

A study commissioned by the Center for Environmental Health suggests that some home water filters may actually add lead to tap water.

Researchers from the University of North Carolina tested 16 under-the-counter water filters

Six models, made by Ametek, Amway, Aqua-Pure, Franke, Omni, and Water Boss produced lead levels higher than the California limit (all used leaded brass faucets)

If you have a filter made by one of these companies, call the manufacturer to see if yours is a model that failed the test and, if so, what they are going to do about it.
