  • 9 resistance-trained men were given a protein-carb supplement or placebo 2 hours before and immediately after working out
  • Growth hormone was higher on day 1 following supplemented workouts and lactate was lower on days 2 and 3
  • Testosterone was down after the supplemented workout and cortisol was down the next day

    Conclusion:
    Protein-carbohydrate supplement before and after training can alter metabolic and hormonal response to high intensity resistance exercise
