Centers For Disease control and Prevention (CDC) has reported the 2nd case of the human form of mad cow disease has been documented in the U.S.

Case surrounds a man who first began showing symptoms when he lived in Houston for 4 years before moving back to the United Kingdom.

Both U.S. cases are believed to be originally contracted in the U.K., but are documented in the U.S. because the first symptoms were shown while they resided in the States.

Comment: Mad Cow Disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) is an international concern, just as the Bird Flu. Changes in meat handling practices must continue to address the health concerns associated with these issues before a large scale break out takes place.
