Core Trainer

Review by Joann Bally CSCS

Yes, this is made by the same Panasonic that makes TVs, stereos, etc. It kind of looks like a saddle and stirrups, and feels like you’re riding a horse. It automatically engages those core and thigh muscles to keep you upright. The manufacturer says it increases strength. I would guess that’s isometric strength. The Core Trainer is also for aerobic training and you can adjust the tilt and speed to suit your goals. This is new and probably hasn’t made it to a health club near you yet. Try it if you see one. I will reserve judgment for now, as you are supposed to get great results just by riding it. It seems like a great way to exercise, but in my experience you have to work harder than that. Still, you don’t have to worry about it bucking you off.
