Bowflex

Bowflex now belongs to Nautilus, who has put the Bowflex name on everything from treadmills to adjustable dumbbells. This review refers to the original Bowflex home gym device you have seen in the ads, which is still available. The Bowflex is light and mobile, so you can store it in a big closet or wheel it onto your balcony on a nice day. It does offer a lot of exercises with adjustments that are relatively quick and easy. It seems to me to have the feeling of a cable machine, rather than a weight stack. It’s not going to make you a power lifter, but can work for general fitness and bodybuilding. It’s versatile, but not as versatile as free weights. The aerobic rowing attachment is ok for a warmup, but isn’t smooth or comfortable enough for high level cardio exercise, which you can get elsewhere. If you’re a large person, don’t go crashing around on this like you would on a 1000-lb unit you couldn’t put on the 2d floor of your condo. Order the video offered on the website if you want to buy one of these, and do your research. They will honor their guarantee.
