The two biggest keys to increasing your bench are getting your triceps and your shoulders strong. Close grip incline presses are good for both, close grip bench presses are good for the triceps. By close grip, I mean your thumbs will be about 1 foot apart or so. I put my first two fingers on the smooth part of the bar.
