I have a vintage bullworker. Yellow with black ends and straps. I have had it for years and now and then go back into a fitness routine with it. They are really good. You have to work up to the levels of fitness gradually but over about 7 days you get into a routine that only needs three days or four in 7 to keep it topped up.
The important point is that you can do isometric excercises for muscle size or isotonic for muscle strength - the isometric are a bit of a strain on your blood pressure. You shouldn't do them if you have a heart condition or blood pressure. Consult your doctor first.
But the isotonics are fine. Most people who look at it and try it (mostly males) think it's some kind of strength test and of course that is stupid because they will probably rip a muscle trying to prove something. But you have to use 60% of your strength at first only and that is not too taxing. It's a great device and improves your alertness and tireness peaks in the day very well indeed you can't easily damage yourself.Trouble is I've lost the brilliant chart that came with it. Printed in yellow it folded out with a mass of developing exercises for beginning and ongoing improvement. I wish I had that chart but I've lost it. USA retailers charge about 20 dollars for the chart which is a rip off. It should be possible to get one free. Anyone know where in UK the chart might be available
Thanks
