I have aural migraines 2 or 3 times a year. They start with blurred vision and seeing little lights floating around in my eyes. Then a few minutes later the headache sets in. It is a true migraine. It can last from a few hours to a few days. I have noticed that large amounts of caffeine bring it on. (but not always) Your condition really sounds the same to me but I would check with my doctor.
