If you are trying to flatten your abs you should work them every day,you don't have to max them out like you would your arms or legs,abs are hard to isolate compared to other muscles.
Most people don't use heavy weights when working abs so you don't need the recovery time.I say do crunches every day, if that bothers you do them every other day. If they are sore,
deffinately give em a break. Besides it only takes about 10 minutes, and killer abs are worth it!!
