Whey is a superior source of the ratio of amino acids that human bodies need to build from.
Soy is the best plant-based protein, but it just can't match up as far as efficiency. You have to take more soy protein to get the equivalent amino acid mix you get from whey.
They both mix easily, and they have relatively neutral tastes.
