Pain in my forearms

I've been working out for about a year now. Whenever I do bicep exercises, especially curls with a barbell, I get a very bad pain on the sides of my forearms! What caused this and how do I repair whatever I've done wrong? It's affecting my ability to max on my biceps workout! Thank you for your help.
