Phat
Flyer - Frequently Asked Questions
How
fast will the scooter go?
The
Currie Electro Drive™ propulsion system has Maximum speed up to 18 mph. Note: Speed and range dependent on the terrain and the weight of the rider
.
How
far will I go on a charge?
Average 8-12 mile range
How long does a charge last?
No!
Fully recharges in 6-8 hours with standard charger. Optional chargers available online.
How
long will the batteries last?
The
Currie Electro Drive™ reserves the bottom 20% of the
battery to prolong its life. Without this system, a
completely drained battery would give only 100 re-
charges. By using 80% of the battery capacity we
increase the number of recharges to 400-500 cycles. If
you use half of the available charge, you can get up
to 700-800 cycles. As you can see, the battery life is
dependent on how often you use it and how deeply you
discharge it. Riding 6-10kms 4 to 5 times per week
would allow about 2 years of battery life.
How
long to recharge the battery pack?
At
an 80% discharge level the batteries can be completely
recharged in 5 hours using the standard battery
charger. The optional quick charger can recharge the
batteries in 2 hours.
How
much does it weigh?
The
Phat Flyer SE with the Electro Drive system including
batteries weighs approximately 25kg. The weight of a
scooter primarily matters when climbing a hill or when
first starting from a stop. Of course, that's when an
occasional kick helps your speed and range the most.
Can
I ride the Phat Flyer SE off-road?
Yes.
The Phat Flyer SE is primarily designed for use on
paved streets and bicycle paths but is usable on
rough, unpaved, or graveled terrain.
What
is the warranty?

scooter frame, components, and the Currie Electro
Drive TM propulsion system are warranted for one year
to the original owner. Batteries are prorated over a
12-month period. Exclusions include chains, tires
& tubes (except for manufacturing and material
defects), and brake pads. See the warranty in Owner's
Manual for details.
