I have two questions: I am 15, 5'2" and 120 lb. Am I overweight? I do
a lot of aerobics using videos. Is that bad? I can't afford to go to a
gym, but what are the bad effects of aerobic videos?
No, you're not overweight. Don't worry about it. The main risk with
aerobic videos is overuse injuries, that is, injuries that are caused by
doing the same movement over and over. You would notice pain in your feet,
lower leg, or possibly knee. If you do, stop doing that exercise for a
while. You can help avoid injuries by trading off among different videos.
I also suggest you alternate your aerobics with other exercise, such as
hiking, swimming, biking, tennis--whatever you like. Be sure to wear
athletic shoes with good cushioning when you do your aerobics.
That's it for this time,
