Diets--are they just geared to let you lose the 10 lb and then make you
frustrated to get more weight off? I work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and my
weight is starting to balloon on me. Might you have any suggestions?
People who work long hours often have trouble scheduling their meals and end
up snacking on chips and cookies all day. You need to plan if you're going
to control your weight. Have something quick, like fruit and cereal for
breakfast, make time for a good lunch, and have a light dinner. Keep snacks
like fruit and low fat crackers around if you get hungry. Work out a couple
times during the week. Stop at the gym for half an hour on your way home,
and do more on your day off. Stay active. Take short walks, use the
stairs, and don't sit in one place too long. All this may be hard at first,
but not after you make it a habit. And yes, diets typically do give just
short-term results and you often have to lose that 10 lb over and over.
