Day 3. - Reuse...Give it another go!
Summary: When you purchase something, plan to use it more than just once. Read More
Consider replacing single use containers by purchasing re-usable products. For example, instead of purchasing individual bottled water buy a lightweight durable metal container to fill prior to leaving the house, office or other location. Look for other opportunities, like re-using bags, boxes or other containers that end up in our possession. Think of them as hot potatoes that you want to pass on as quickly as possible to get them out of your life!
When you can no longer re-use older electronics, appliances and the like, sell them or find a donation location. Finding a company to haul away items is not difficult, as reclamation of metal and parts is becoming more profitable. Also, when involved in the deconstruction and/or disassembly of a house or building, make every effort not to waste perfectly good materials but make them available for others to use.
On the job, using email, when convenient, instead of faxes or actual letters saves the original paper and causes less clutter. Signs, flyers or other published material emphasizing contact information instead of dates are timeless and can be used again in the future.
