After reviewing your life and making the environment a priority to your own thinking and actions, the next logical step that should be to influence society as a whole. In general, by actually living more eco-consciously, those who observe you are being positively affected as well. To take a proactive stance to get others to act would be to use the democratic system to legislate these concepts into laws. Be sure to exercise your most important democratic duty and speak with your environmentally conscious mind to vote for the most understanding and forward-thinking environmental candidate...it's important for the Earth and the financial future that this emerging movement provide the fuel necessary using environmentally sound methods.
Voting for the best environmental candidate depends upon your beliefs as well as what they are saying and who is backing them. Every profitable industry that negatively impacts the environment has multiple lobbyists fighting to slow down the legal processes requiring them to clean up their act. Try to keep this in mind when considering a potential candidate:
Go to their websites and read.
Do an Internet search for blogs and news clips
Pay attention to various news sources as each has its own bias.
Take the time to listen (and/or read) their speeches.
