There is no question that we need to purchase products...so when there is a product that you or your family use regularly, be sure that you purchase the largest quantities available. Don't neglect to ask others in your family, neighbors or office mates if these bulk purchases can be made together. Increase your communication and buying interactions with those around you, and encourage others to contact you when they are making such purchases.
Purchasing in bulk also reduces packaging, which reduces waste, but of more interest is that bulk pricing is usually closer to wholesale prices and saves you money! Perhaps overlooked is that having larger quantities available may come in handy during emergencies and offer more free time by requiring fewer trips to the store itself and not waiting in line once there.
The following types of items are ideal candidates for bulk purchases:
1. Consumables, canned goods, pet food
2. Non-consumables including toilet paper, soaps and cleaning supplies
3. Specific favorites that you or your family enjoy
These are some considerations that will make the process streamlined;
where will you store it? Decide before the purchase and make the room.
what do you store it in? This may change if it is longer-term storage.
Make the space & keep it organized (know where it is and what is running low by keeping an updatable list)
